Dean's Message

Dear Friends,

We at IAME, believe that a degree alone will not make a Manager. The person has to become worthy of the degree he/she acquires. Hence, our attempt is to provide all the inputs and give maximum opportunity to our students to become Global Managers, not just the holders of a degree.

We also believe that “To practice what you learn in theory is more difficult in practice than in theory”. That is why we emphasize on the importance of skills in Management rather that just knowledge. Skills development in IAME is through Management Skills Programme (MSP) as an integral part of the curriculum.

Each one of you is a unique individual with your own expertise. All of you have the potential to become reputed managers. IAME intends to help you to realize that potential. However, you have to take the initiative to learn, to ask questions, to explore the unknown and to develop your own skills. We will hold your hands and make this journey with you.

My message to the students therefore is:

You will make your own destiny but we will set you in the right direction and help you to achieve your goals. You have to make the effort to develop yourselves but we will give the guidance and the opportunity to do so.

As Alan Toffler, a futurist writer has rightly said, “the illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn”

We, at IAME, will teach you how to learn, to un-learn your old habits and to re-learn new skills. Our ultimate aim is to carve out a career of excellence for all our students and hence every activity in IAME will be industry-centric. We ensure excellent teaching standards, frequent industry interaction and mentoring support whenever necessary.

So, let us together have our tryst with destiny!

Dr. B.K. Murty is a mechanical Engineer with a PhD in Strategic Marketing, Florida, USA and an MBA in Marketing.

He has over 27 years of corporate experience at various levels in Sales, Marketing, Corporate Communication & Strategic Planning. He has been the Head of Strategic Planning and Corporate Communication at TATAs (Telecon) at their corporate office. Prior to joining IAME, he was a visiting professor of Management Studies at various B-Schools.
